Sahel Coalition, Sereni attends the third ministerial meeting

Deputy Minister Sereni attended the third ministerial meeting of the International Coalition for the Sahel which was held today via videoconference. The Sahel Coalition unites more than 60 Countries committed to the stabilization of the Sahel region which represents the southern the border of the enlarged Mediterranean region. The stability of the region is threatened by jihadist armed groups and a serious humanitarian crisis. Deputy Minister Sereni confirmed Italy’s commitment to foster the stability of the Sahel and to protect the civilian populations, in coordination with the Coalition partners, in combating terrorism, providing sustainable development aid and fighting the effects of climate change.
