The Secretary General of the Farnesina, Ambassador Ettore Francesco Sequi, had a telephone consultation today with the Secretary General of Quai d’Orsay, Ambassador François Delattre, as scheduled in the Quirinal Treaty.
Ambassador Sequi expressed satisfaction with the frequent bilateral consultations following the signing of the Quirinal Treaty.
Ambassadors Sequi and Delattre discussed the situation in Ukraine, expressing concern over the continuation of the conflict, the worsening humanitarian crisis and the serious repercussions also on global food security.
In the light of the persisting uncertainty that characterizes the political scene in Libya, Ambassadors Sequi and Delattre reaffirmed the will to keep a tight coordination on the dossier, including at EU level, to foster the Country’s stabilization.
Lastly, Sequi and Delattre addressed the issue of the EU Member States’ energy dependency on Russia and discussed the EU’s enlargement prospects.
