Minister for Foreign Affairs Giulio Terzi appointed the following Directors of Italian Cultural Institutes:
Italian Cultural Institute of Paris – Marina Valensise
Italian Cultural Institute of Beijing – Stefania Stafutti
Italian Cultural Institute of Tokyo – Giorgio Amitrano
The decision was taken at the end of the procedure prescribed for the appointment of Directors of proven prestige.
On Minister Terzi’s instructions, the National Commission for the Promotion of Italian Culture Abroad met over recent weeks to draft the guidelines for the selection of candidates. Among the criteria chosen by the Commission, special importance was given to those candidates’ ability to: draft concrete cultural projects and to bring appropriate vision to each individual institute’s specific needs and attract financial resources thanks to collaboration with the private sector and to strong links with various local society sectors; to effectively communicate cultural and promotional efforts; to manage facilities as complex as the Italian Cultural Institutes.
