Press release detail

Minister for Foreign Affairs Giulio Terzi called “disturbing and absolutely unacceptable” anti-Semitic statements by Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi two days ago in Teheran during a conference on drug trafficking organized by the United Nations and the Iranian authorities for the International Day against Drug Abuse.

“Such uncustomary statements concern us and we firmly condemn them”, the minister continues, according to whom “the international community must maintain a high guard against expressions of racism and anti-Semitism”.

Finally, Minister Terzi expressed the hope that the leaders of the Islamic Republic would “disassociate themselves as quickly as possible from declarations that violate the most elementary principles of respect and tolerance among religions”.
