Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi has spoken by telephone with the Turkish foreign minister, Ahmet Davutoglu, to discuss the developments in the situation in Syria.
Terzi strongly condemned the shelling that caused Turkish civilian victims and expressed his solidarity with Minister Davutoglu. He confirmed Italy’s support for Turkey’s position in the international fora, starting with the United Nations.
Pointing out the risks of the Syrian crisis spreading in the region, Minister Terzi told his Turkish counterpart that he hoped all parties would make every effort to lower the tension.
