Minister for Foreign Affairs Giulio Terzi spoke by telephone with his Libyan colleague Abdelaziz to discuss what the recent attack in Benghazi.
The Libyan foreign minister expressed the solidarity of the Libyan government and people in reaction to the attack on Consul General Guido De Sanctis, reconfirming Tripoli’s determination to identify and prosecute those responsible.
For his part, Terzi assured, in keeping with the approached confirmed by President Mgarief’s visit to Tome, that Italy would maintain its convinced support for the democratic process and the Libyan authorities’ efforts to boost security, not least in an effort to relaunch the Libyan economy and intensify relations between Libya and Italy.
