The foreign ministry was pleased to learn of Italy’s election to the Vice-Chairmanship of the Executive Council of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, acknowledgement of the political and financial commitment that Italy, the organisation’s 6th largest contributor, has traditionally made to the control of this category of weaponry.
Thanks to this new appointment, Italy will be able to further contribute to the pursuit of the objectives of the Chemical Weapons Convention of 1993.
