Deputy Minister Marta Dassù is visiting Washington D.C. to meet Deputy Secretary of State William Joseph Burns to discuss key international policy issues. Topics for discussion include developments in the Syrian crisis and the situation in Egypt. The visit will also be an opportunity to examine the negotiations for the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) with the Deputy US Trade Representative, Ambassador Miriam Sapiro. Discussions will also include up-dates on the US participation in EXPO 2014 and the activity of the National Italian American Foundation – NIAF (appointment with NIAF President Joseph Del Raso).
Deputy Minister Dassù will allso be attending an event, hosted by Ambassador Bisogniero at the residence in Villa Firenze, to discuss the future of Europe-US relations. Participants will include the US Special Envoy and Coordinator for International Energy Affairs, Ambassador Carlos Pascual, and members of leading American think tanks.
