The Farnesina condemns the kidnapping of 3 young Israelis and appeals to the kidnappers for their immediate release. These actions are an unacceptable attack on the Israeli people and undermine their confidence in the peace process. And more: they also damage the Palestinian people’s legitimate aspiration to see their rights recognised, as President Abbas said today in his appeal. The Israeli negotiator, Tzipi Livni, praised the President for his comments.
The Farnesina takes a highly favourable view of the collaboration between the Israeli and Palestinian security services to resolve the case and hopes it will produce the positive results that everyone awaits.
