Mideast: Mogherini-Zarif meeting

The dramatic situation in Gaza was the focus of a telephone meeting Minister Federica Mogherini held with Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on his request, during which the two ministers agreed on the need to put an end to the loss of human lives in Gaza and Israel, and to renew the ceasefire and render it more sustainable over the long term. The two ministers also discussed the need to work on a comprehensive solution to the conflict and on improving living conditions in the West Bank and Gaza.
