Minister for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini expressed her condolences on the death of Simone Camilli in Gaza. “The death of Simone Camilli is a tragedy for his family and for our nation”, she said.
“Yet again, a journalist has had to pay the price of a war that has lasted too many years, and for the second time in a few short months we mourn the death of a young person courageously engaged in the task of reporting the news”, Mogherini pointed out.
“And as if another reminder were needed, the killing of Simone once again underscores how urgent it is that a final and definitive solution to the Middle East conflict be found”, she added.
“I wish to extend my own personal and the entire Italian government’s sincerest condolences to Simone’s family and friends on their very painful loss”. She concluded.
