The Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Paolo Gentiloni, has expressed “great satisfaction over the immense professionalism and speed shown by the Farnesina and our Embassy in Cairo in handling and resolving the case of two fishing boats, the Alba Chiara and Jonathan, stopped yesterday in the waters off the Egyptian coast and brought to the port of Alexandria during the night”.

“The Farnesina has been following the question closely since the outset. I wish to thank the Egyptian authorities, who showed a great spirit of friendship and collaboration and worked in close contact with the Italian Embassy in Cairo. This case has once again demonstrated our excellent and firmly established bilateral relations”, concluded Minister Gentiloni.
