Nobel Peace prize awarded to the National Dialogue Quartet of civil society organisations in Tunisia

“The award of the Nobel Peace Prize to the Quartet of Tunisian civil society organisations symbolises the victory of the people of Tunisia and of all peoples and communities who have placed their belief in the democratisation process that begin in 2010 on the southern shores of the Mediterranean”. This was the comment of the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Paolo Gentiloni.

“The Quarter tirelessly continued the dialogue with an inclusive approach that encompassed all elements of Tunisian society. This also extended to the most critical moments that this country – a friend to Italy – has experienced in recent months”, continued Gentiloni.

“This Nobel Prize is an encouragement to all societies and all governments that strongly believe in the attainment of democracy, freedom and stability in the Mediterranean”, concluded the Minister.
