Middle East: Gentiloni condemns violence in Jerusalem and West Bank

Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Paolo Gentiloni expressed his “firm condemnation of the acts of violence in Jerusalem and the West Bank, along with those yesterday in Jerusalem’s Old City in which two members of an Orthodox Jewish family traveling to the Wailing Wall were killed, and the hope that those responsible will be brought to justice”.“In this climate of deep tension”, the minister continued, “all parties must strive to avoid the escalation of violence on the ground, as only the forces most extreme and hostile to dialogue and peace would benefit from that”.
