The Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Paolo Gentiloni, had a telephone conversation today with the Libyan prime minister designate, Fayez Al-Serraj.
During their discussion, the Premier thanked Italy for its contribution to the diplomatic solution to the Libyan crisis and for the Rome summit that paved the way to the solution of the difficult situation.
Gentiloni and Al-Serraj both expressed the hope that the Security Council Resolution will help stabilise the process. Minister Gentiloni reiterated that Italy is ready to support the agreement of national accord in accordance with the needs expressed by the Libyan people on the economic, humanitarian and security levels.
