Minister Alfano on mission to New York and Washington

Tomorrow Angelino Alfano, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, will depart on a mission to the United States, with stops in New York and Washington.

On Sunday, 19 March (at 5:30 p.m. local time), Minister Alfano will attend the closing ceremony of the “Change the World Model UN 2017” event in the General Assembly Hall at the United Nations, at the presence, among others, of the United Nations Advisor for Africa at Under-Secretary-General level, Maged Abdelaziz.

On the following day, at the offices of the Permanent Mission of Italy to the UN, Mr Alfano will meet with the United States’ major Jewish Associations (the American Jewish Committee, the Anti-defamation League, the B’nai B’rith International, the Conference of Presidents, the J Street Education Fund, the World Jewish Congress). At 11:30 a.m. the Minister will have a brief meeting with the press. He will then participate in a working lunch with Italian top officials serving at the United Nations.

His mission to New York will end at 4 p.m. at the United Nations building with a meeting with the United Nations Secretary-General, Antònio Guterres. Mr Alfano will then travel to Washington.
