On Tuesday, 21 March, at 11 a.m., Minister Alfano will address the Atlantic Council with a paper entitled “Facing common challenges: The Italian contribution to Security”. Minister Alfano will then go to Capitol Hill for a meeting with the Italian American Congressional Delegation and, at 3:30 p.m., he will have a meeting at the Senate with the Chairman of the United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, Robert P. Corker. The day will close with a working dinner with the Libyan Foreign Minister, Mohamed Taer Siyala.
The minister’s agenda on Wednesday envisages a bilateral meeting with his Lebanese counterpart, Gebran Bassil, at 9:30 a.m. at the Department of State, after which he is due to attend the ministerial meeting of the Global Coalition to Counter Daesh from 10 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. The meeting will be followed by number of bilateral meetings with the foreign ministers of several countries.
At 6:15 in the afternoon Minister Alfano will meet the media at a brief press point organised at the Italian Embassy in Washington where he will subsequently attend the concert for the Celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the Treaties of Rome, at the presence of senior officials of the United States Administration, Congress and business world.
