“I am horrified by the two attacks perpetrated on Palm Sunday on the Egyptian Coptic Orthodox churches in Tanta and Alexandria. These vile attacks have taken a frightful toll of lives in a place of peace, making the act even more cowardly and evil,” said Angelino Alfano, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
“I express my sympathy to the families of the victims and solidarity to the Coptic Church of Egypt and to the Egyptian people,” he continued. He added: “Terror shall be defeated and the Italian Government stands by the Nations engaged in the front line in order to combat it.”
