Minister Alfano has a telephone conversation with his French counterpart

“With my colleague Le Drian, we had an in-depth discussion over the situation in Libya. I told him that it is important that the points agreed in Paris be followed up with tangible actions, measurable by the United Nations, by the international community and also by the same Libyan population. This is another reason why it is necessary to assure the maximum support to the new SRSG Salamé. With respect to the meeting held in Rome between Al-Sarraj and Prime Minister Gentiloni, I illustrated Italy’s decision to give a positive response to Libya’s request to receive additional support from Italy for the Libyan navy vessels engaged in fighting migrant trafficking,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, relatively to the telephone conversation that he had this morning with his French counterpart, Jean-Yves Le Drian.
