Italy expresses its firmest condemnation for the terrorist attacks in Mogadishu, and in a spirit of friendship and solidarity, conveys its condolences to the government of Somalia and to its friend the people of Somalia. “Our thoughts are with the families of the victims, and to the people injured we convey our wishes for a quick recovery,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano.
Alfano continued on to say: “Italy will not fail to lend its support to Somalia, including within the framework of the United Nations and the European Union, pursuing an active policy against terrorism to foster peace and development in the Country”.
“We trust that the Federal Government and the Federal Member States will be able to join forces to overcome this tragedy and build a long-awaited future of peace and prosperity for the country”.
