The ​Italian cooperation service gives aid to the Indonesian population

Upon the initiative of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Emanuela Del Re, the Italian Cooperation service arranged for an aid package to be delivered to the Indonesian population that was struck by the earthquake and tsunami of last 28 September. A financing of 200,000 euros was allocated immediately after the disaster to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to fund emergency relief operations and the delivery of shelters and food in the areas involved. In addition, two flights of the Italian Cooperation Agency took off from the United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot in Brindisi carrying equipment donated by the Italian Red Cross to the Indonesian Civil Protection and Red Cross to host 350 humanitarian aid workers in the Base Camp of Palu who are there to assist the population struck by the disaster.
