The Italian Cooperation service takes action in Mozambique

Following the devastation provoked by the passing of tropical cyclone “Idai” in Mozambique, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Emanuela Del Re, committed a humanitarian aid package for the populations affected. A humanitarian flight was authorised to take off from the UN Humanitarian Response Depot in Brindisi in the next few days and head to Beira with a load of relief and humanitarian aid supplies (tents, water purifiers and power generators), in addition to pledging a financial contribution to the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to support the activities aimed at supplying accommodation and health and hygiene services on the ground.
