The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation welcomes the latest developments in the political reconciliation process in the Fezzan region of Libya, which have led to the establishment of a Fezzan “Council” representing the many social and clan realities in the area. The Fezzan is a strategic area for the equilibrium of Libya and the whole region and can make a decisive contribution to the stabilisation of the entire country. For this reason, the MAECI confirms its full support for the initiative and its willingness to promote the positive developments taking place in the region also in Europe.
