The families of Italian fishermen’s relatives who were detained in Libya following the seizure of the “Medinea” and “Antarctica” motor trawlers were received today at the Foreign Ministry by the Head of the Ministry’s Crisis Unit, in constant contact with them since the early stages of the arrest.
The meeting, which took place at the indication of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Luigi Di Maio, allowed to confirm to the relatives of the compatriots that the Foreign Ministry continues to work on the case non-stop with all relevant international actors. They therefore reaffirmed the maximum commitment of the Government and the Ministry to reach a positive solution to the matter as quickly as possible.
