In the wake of the second Berlin Conference, Italy renews its full support for the Libyan political process in the path leading to the elections on 24 December.
To this end, Italy looks with great attention and lively expectation at the new ongoing session of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF), which opened on 28 June in Geneva with the aim of facilitating the definition of the constitutional and legal framework within which the important elections will take place.
Libya needs more than ever unity, convergence and full sovereignty for its political, institutional and economic rebirth. Italy strongly encourages to timely reach an agreement with broad consensus thus allowing elections to be held in the scheduled date.
