The Secretary General of the Farnesina, Ambassador Ettore Francesco Sequi, held consultations today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the Secretary General of the Algerian Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Chakib Rachid Kaid.
The meeting focused in particular on the organisation of the upcoming Italy-Algeria Summit, to be held in Algiers on 18 and 19 July. The summit, to be chaired by Prime Minister Draghi and Algerian President Tebboune, will be an opportunity to sign important bilateral agreements. A Business Forum will take place on the sidelines of the summit, featuring the participation of several enterprises from the two countries.
Ambassador Sequi and Ambassador Kaid also exchanged views on bilateral cooperation issues, in particular energy security, the situation in Libya, the Maghreb and the Sahel, and the war in Ukraine.
