Presented at the Farnesina – in the presence of Undersecretary Silli – the “Italiani delle Americhe” (Italians of the Americas) project: a book and web documentary promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAECI), produced by Akronos and developed in collaboration with National Geographic Italia.

The “Italiani delle Americhe” project was presented today, April 13, at the Farnesina, in the presence of Undersecretary of State Giorgio Silli, Director General for Italian Citizens Abroad, Luigi Maria Vignali and the authors, Riccardo Venturi and Lorenzo Colantoni.

Fifth production in a series dedicated to the history of Italian emigration around the world that has already featured Italians from the United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany and Eastern Europe – “Italiani delle Americhe” is the story of Italian communities, past and present, in five countries of the American continent: Canada, the United States, Brazil, Argentina and Chile. A three-stage journey by the book and web documentary authors Riccardo Venturi and Lorenzo Colantoni.

“Italiani delle Americhe” illustrates the hard work and dream of Italians abroad, with magnificent images and compelling stories, but also through objects, faces and words. A research that also analyses in depth the relationship between new mobility and the historical community of our emigrants, the largest in the world.

The time horizon of this narrative starts from the late 19th century to the present day, tracing the incredible story of more than 14 million Italians who migrated to the Americas at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
