The Italian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Edmondo Cirielli, has taken part as a member in the first meeting of the Italian Climate Fund Steering Committee, held at the Italian Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security and chaired by Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin. The meeting was also attended as a member by the Italian Undersecretary for the Economy, Lucia Albano.
The Italian Climate Fund will increase Italy’s fundamental contribution in favour of global climate finance, confirming the important commitments undertaken at the international level, and will support developing countries in combating climate change through mitigation and adaptation measures.
On the basis of the guidelines adopted at today’s meeting, and taking into account the foreign policy guidelines outlined by the Executive, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, the Fund’s managing body, has been given a mandate to propose the plan of activities for the interventions.
