In this regard, Deputy Minister Cirielli praised the results achieved by the countries of the area in terms of economic integration, a fundamental goal also with a view to fostering regional reconciliation. To this end, the Deputy Minister encouraged the parties to work constructively and take advantage of all the opportunities offered by the existing cooperation frameworks.
Deputy Minister Cirielli also mentioned Italy’s important contribution to peace and stability in the region, reflected both in its extensive participation in KFOR and EUFOR Althea and in the Government’s renewed political commitment to the Western Balkans, which was at the centre of a series of high-level initiatives organised during the year at the request of Minister Tajani.
