International adoptions, the Italian community, and opportunities for companies at the centre of Undersecretary Giorgio Silli’s mission to Peru

The Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs, Giorgio Silli, carried out an official mission to Lima, where he met with representatives of the Italian community and the Italian System, and chaired a meeting with members of COMITES, CGIE, the Chamber of Commerce, Italian businesses, and the Vice President of the Commission for International Adoptions of the Prime Minister’s Office.

In the talks with the Minister and Deputy Minister for Vulnerable Populations, Fanny Esther Montellanos Carbajal and Carlos Jesus Vilela del Carpio, the already excellent cooperation on international adoptions was deepened, on the eve of the international workshop “Adoption: an Interdisciplinary Approach” organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations of the Republic of Peru.

The meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, John Peter Camino Cannock, allowed for a discussion on major regional and international dossiers, while a meeting at the Ministry of Transport was an opportunity to discuss investment opportunities for Italian companies. Finally, the Mayor of Lima Metropolitana, Rafael Lopez Aliaga Cazorla, presented the Undersecretary with the Medal of the City of Lima.

Undersecretary Silli said: “The mission reaffirmed the solidity of relations and excellent cooperation with Peru in the international adoption sector, which is a tangible sign of the common commitment to the rights of individuals and families. We are also particularly satisfied with the opportunities for Italian companies and the prospects for further development of economic cooperation.”
