The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani will open tomorrow in Milan (at the Testori Auditorium of Palazzo Lombardia), in the presence of more than 550 Italian, Ukrainian and international companies, the preparatory event dedicated to the private sector of the Ukraine Recovery Conference, scheduled in Rome on 10 and 11 July.
The meeting aims to bring together governments, local authorities, international financial institutions, development banks, Italian, Ukrainian and international companies to discuss how to support the participation of businesses and financial institutions in the reconstruction process.
The event, which will start at 10:30 a.m. and will last all day, will be divided into a series of working sessions dedicated, inter alia, to investment, the promotion of our businesses, energy and the green transition, manufacturing and processing industries, infrastructure and housing, critical raw materials. A final session will be focused specifically on the reconstruction project of the City of Mykolaiv, within the framework of the UN4 Ukrainian Cities Program and on the existing collaboration between the Lombardy Region and the Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
The very strong participation – 700 people from Italy, Ukraine and 22 other countries representing about 550 companies, trade associations, public bodies, development banks, NGOs, universities, research centres and local communities – bears witness to the importance of the moment and Italy’s centrality in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
The event will be attended by the Ukrainian Prime Minister, Denys Shmyhal, the Ukrainian First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Yuliia Svyrydenko, the President of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, the Director General for Enlargement and the Eastern Neighborhood of the European Commission, Gert-Jan Koopman, the Special Envoy for Ukraine’s Reconstruction, Davide La Cecilia, the Vice President of Confindustria for Export and Investment Attraction, Barbara Cimmino, and the ITA Director General, Lorenzo Galanti.
