On the occasion of the Intergovernmental Summit between Italy and Algeria, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), will host the Italy–Algeria Business Forum.
Algeria, Italy’s leading gas supplier, is also its foremost economic partner on the African continent. Italy ranks as Algeria’s top customer and second-largest supplier, with exports reaching EUR 2.9 billion in 2024 and over 150 Italian companies operating in the country.
With approximately 500 registered companies—both Italian and Algerian—the Business Forum highlights the strong interest of economic operators from both nations in enhancing trade and investment ties. It also represents a key opportunity to further strengthen an already robust bilateral economic partnership, reaffirmed by the business roundtable chaired by Minister Tajani in Algiers on 3 March. The Forum will open with institutional addresses by Minister Tajani and his Algerian counterpart, Ahmed Attaf.
The afternoon plenary session will open with a segment on the partnership inspired by Enrico Mattei, followed by discussions on opportunities for bilateral trade and investment, and on the financial instruments available to support the bilateral partnership.
Throughout the day, thematic panels will be held focusing on sectors of greatest economic collaboration between the two countries. These include energy and the circular economy, infrastructure and transport, sustainable agriculture, advanced manufacturing, and the pharmaceutical industry, with contributions from Italian and Algerian business leaders. A special focus will be given to B2B meetings, with 130 dedicated stations set up for as many Algerian companies.
