The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Edmondo Cirielli, and the President of the National School of Administration (SNA), Professor Paola Severino, launched the project “Strengthening the skills, expertise, and knowledge of senior public officials in Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Tunisia” this morning at the Royal Palace of Caserta, home of the School. In addition to delegations from African countries, the ceremony was attended by representatives of key Italian institutions, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Department of Public Administration of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), and the Mattei Plan Mission Structure.
“I strongly supported this project, which was conceived during the G7 high-level meeting on training that I chaired in October 2024 right here in Caserta, and I thank Minister Tajani for believing in the initiative,” the Deputy Minister said. “Professor Severino and the SNA were ready to seize the opportunity and, thanks to their work with the Foreign Ministry and other partners, quickly implemented an initiative that could turn the Royal Palace of Caserta into an educational hub for Africa, within the framework of the Mattei Plan launched by President Meloni.”
With a total funding of approximately €6.5 million, training activities will now begin in strategic areas such as public debt management, the use of innovative financial instruments, the mobilization of fiscal resources in the various countries involved, investment promotion, and the energy and digital transition, involving approximately 1,460 African public officials.
