The Embassy of Italy in Doha, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCTI), has organised the third edition of the “Festa della Repubblica dei Piccoli” (Italian National Day for Children), held at the ACS International School Doha on 17 October.

On the occasion of the “Week of the Italian Language in the World”, the event was dedicated to Italian and Qatari children between the ages of 3 and 12 and offered both interactive workshops and cultural activities, with the aim of promoting in the younger generations the profound value of friendship that unites Italy and Qatar.

Thanks to the support of the MCTI through Studio 5, the event focused on “Technology&Culture”. The activities were inspired by Italian and Qatari culture and gave young participants the opportunity to explore technology and innovation in four thematic workshops.

The project was implemented in cooperation with the ACS International School Doha, where a comprehensive programme of curricular and extracurricular workshops dedicated to Italian culture was launched in September. Activities included interactive language games focused on Italian vocabulary (specifically related to book vocabulary or quotes from Italian literature), cultural quizzes on Italian books, and role-plays to converse in Italian. In addition, the children created posters inspired by Italian culture and participated in multimedia presentations, where students produced a video in which they interviewed peers about Italian words.

“We are pleased to celebrate, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the third edition of the Italian National Day for Children,” said Italian Ambassador Paolo Toschi together with his wife, Federica Cellini Toschi, adding that “This event not only strengthens the cultural ties between Italy and Qatar, but also offers young people a unique opportunity to explore the beauty and richness of our traditions while discovering the technologies of the future. The children’s involvement and enthusiasm are the best testimony of our shared ambition to promote creativity and intercultural dialogue.”
