“From Belcanto to Verismo – An introduction to Italian Classic Opera”: this is the title of the concert organized by the Embassy of Italy in Riyadh, in collaboration with Roma Capitale’s Teatro dell’Opera Foundation, as part of the celebrations for the 19th Week of the Italian Language in the world. Singers Erika Beretti, soprano, and Irida Dragoti, mezzo-soprano, gave their performance, accompanied on the piano by Edina Bak. “We are very proud to bring this initiative to Saudi Arabia, in collaboration with one of the most prestigious Italian opera houses, the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma – the Ambassador of Italy in Riyadh, Luca Ferrari, commented – it seemed to us the best way to celebrate this edition of the week of the Italian Language in the World, whose theme is ‘Italian and the Stage’.
