The screening of new audiovisual programmes in the Italian language in Albania is at the heart of the Agreement between Rai Com and RTSH, signed on 17 October 2024 at the Italian Residence in Tirana, and announced at a press conference.
The event falls in conjunction with the celebration of the 24th edition of the Week of the Italian Language in the World.
The ceremony – with the signing by the Managing Director of RTSH, Aurora Polo, and the International Sales Manager of RAI Com, Margherita Zocaro – took place in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Lira Pipa, the Director of the Italian Institute of Culture, Alessandro Ruggera and other personalities, guests of the Italian Ambassador, Fabrizio Bucci.
On the basis of this agreement, supported by contributions from the Foreign Ministry, RTSH is committed to broadcasting the following films, TV series and documentaries, subtitled in Albanian, over the next 12 months:
TV series: Cuori (season 1), Mina September (season 1), Rinascere (TV movie)
Films: Non Sono Un Assassino, Se Mi Vuoi Bene, La Stoccata Vincente, Tutto Il Mio Folle Amore
Documentaries: Enzo Ferrari, Marchionne, Stanotte a Napoli, Luigi Ghirri, Ezio Bosso, Lion’s Share, Tomba, Touche
During the press conference, while reviewing the close collaboration existing in the cultural field with Sistema Italia and the many initiatives underway, Deputy Minister Lira Pipa wished to recall the importance of Italian TV as a window on the world. Italian, learnt by the Albanians thanks to TV, has been a fundamental instrument of integration in Italy.
While underlining the importance of Rai as the main Italian cultural industry, Ambassador Bucci pointed out that the new agreement is part of a powerful action to promote Italy in Albania, carried out over the last few years also with the previous agreement between RAI and RTSH , financed in 2022 by many Italian companies operating in this country.
