The presentation of the new Prometeia report entitled “Brand in Italy, Ambassadors of Italian products in the world”, organized by the Directorate General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation, was held today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The report analyzes the performance of Italian brands in the world with a particular focus on Italy’s 5 strategic sectors, namely the agri-food industry, the fashion world, the home sector, cars and components, sports and leisure.
For each sector, the report identifies the best performing companies by looking at both the economic results (turnover and growth over the last three years) and the interest in these brands shown by users on the Internet (absolute number of hits and their trends over time). A variegated picture of Italian brands emerges, where the leading brands drive the high end luxury supply chains. Worthy of not are also the smaller specialized businesses that have been able to capture emerging market trends (environment and health in particular) and customer segments (millenials).
The opening speech was delivered by the Director General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation, Vincenzo de Luca, followed by the President of Prometeia, Angelo Tantazzi and the Director General of the ICE Agency, Roberto Luongo. The program also envisaged the presentation of the report by Alessandra Lanza of Prometeia and, finally, a round table discussion with the President of the Foundation Italia Patria della bellezza, Maurizio Di Robilant. The speakers of the round table included the President of the Italian FashionTraining System, Paolo Bastianello, the Director of the Reputation Institute, Fabio Ventoruzzo and the Senior Director of Intesa San Paolo, Anna Maria Roscio.
