Vice Minister Emanuela Del Re participated today in the Ministerial Conference “Sudan Partnership” in virtual format, together with the main countries and international organizations that are members of the “Group of Friends of Sudan”, which support the African country in the current process of democratic and economic reforms.
During her speech, the Vice Minister reiterated the strong closeness to the Sudanese people, witnessed on the one hand by the decades-long presence of our Development Cooperation, active in particular in the fields of health, food security and education, and on the other by a lively political dialogue with the Sudanese authorities.
“Italy strengthens its level of financial support to Sudan and strongly supports the democratic transition and economic reforms launched by Prime Minister Hamdok, in the belief that a stable and economically healthy Sudan will be able to play a leading role in the stabilization of priority areas such as the Horn of Africa and the Sahel,” commented the Vice Minister.
