“Cantica21. Italian Contemporary Art Everywhere” is a project sponsored jointly by the Directorate-General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, with the aim of encouraging and promoting research on and the practice of contemporary visual arts, supporting and relaunching the creative capacities of Italian artists and creatives.

To this end, Cantica21 gathers art projects and produces original works to enrich public collections and become part of a multiple-venue exhibition in the spaces of the Italian diplomatic missions and Institutes of Culture scattered across the world.

The Call consists of three sections: Section A (for individual artists or artist collectives aged up to 35) features 37 shortlisted projects; Section B (for individual artists or artist collectives aged over 35 years) features 100 shortlisted projects; while Section C (for Dante-themed projects) features 68 shortlisted projects.

The Directorate-General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation wishes to thank all the participants in Cantica21. Italian Contemporary Art Everywhere.
