Please note that applications for a type “I” VISA should be submitted well in advance to the Embassy of the United States of America. This visa is obligatory for all press and media representatives intending to travel to Chicago to cover the Summit.
For visa applications, a letter on the company letterhead should be submitted. It should include the purpose and date of the journey and the function of each applicant (in the case of freelancers, this should be specified in the letter). A copy of each applicant’s credentials will also be needed or, for freelancers, a copy of their current contract.
To submit visa applications, an appointment must be made with the Embassy.
Each applicant must go in person to the US Embassy for an initial interview and to have their fingerprints recorded for their application.
