Connference “From the Rio+20 Conference to the Post-2015 process”

On Tuesday 2 July 2013 at 10:00 the foreign ministry in Rome will host the conference “From the Rio+20 Conference to the Post-2015 process: the Zero Hunger Challenges of sustainability, the fight against poverty and social development. Italy’s contribution, the European position”.”


The event concludes the project “Cultivating the economy, food, the planet”, financed by the Italian Cooperation and carried out in collaboration with the RIO+20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, Slow Food Italia, Oxfam Italia and the Centro Studi di Politica Internazionale (CeSPI).


The conference will be entirely open to the press and consist of two sessions. The first entitled “RIO+20 and the Post-2015 agenda: themes and challenges, to be introduced by Deputy Minister Lapo Pistelli. The second, “How to strengthen collaboration and ensure Italy’s and Europe’s active and effective role in the new global agenda”, will begin at 14:00 with a speech by Deputy Minister Lapo Pistelli. Other speakers will include Minister for the Environment Andrea Orlando and Under-Secretary for Agricultural Policies Maurizio Martina


Journalists and camera operators interested in covering the event are asked to apply for specific accreditation no later than …….at ………, using the online accreditation system now available at the “Journalists Area” on the home page of the foreign ministry’s website www.esteri.it. Please complete the interactive form provided in the Press section of our web site, to which all required documentation can be attached in digital format. If in exceptional cases it is not possible to complete the online accreditation procedure, applications in writing on company letterhead and signed by the director of the organisation concerned—indicating name, surname, date and place of birth, number of a valid ID document and qualification—should be sent by fax to the Press Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (tel. 063691.3432 fax 06.3691.2122).


Accredited journalists/photographers may collect their ID badges personally at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Via della Macchia della Farnesina entrance, beginning at 9:15 on 2 July 2013.
