On Friday, December 10, 2021, starting at 10:00 am, at the Ara Pacis Museum in Rome, the second edition of the “CIDU Award for Human Rights” will take place. The award is given every year to individuals and organisations that have particularly distinguished themselves in activities to promote Human Rights in our country, reaffirming the centrality of the protection and promotion of Human Rights as a guideline of Italian foreign policy.
The event will be held to coincide with World Human Rights Day celebrations and will feature the winners of both editions (2020 and 2021).
The ceremony will be introduced by the President of the Interministerial Committee for Human Rights (CIDU), Fabrizio Petri, followed by the opening speech of the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and President of the Award Committee of Honour, Benedetto Della Vedova, the EU Special Representative for the Sahel, Emanuela Claudia Del Re, the Minister for Equal Opportunities and the Family, Elena Bonetti and the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza.
The event will be entirely open to the Press and end at 1 pm.

Interested journalists and camera operators are requested to apply for accreditation by sending an e-mail to the Press and Institutional Communication Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation at accreditamentostampa@esteri.it, (tel. 06/3691.3432-8573), enclosing a letter from their newspaper (or Journalists’ Association membership card). For the representatives of foreign press organisations, a Note Verbale issued by the Embassy in Rome of the country of the press organisation represented is required.
Due to space constraints, only the first accreditations received in order of time will be accepted. Only to these will participation and admission to the Museum be confirmed.
Those who do not receive confirmation of participation will not be allowed to enter.
The accredited Press may arrive directly at the Ara Pacis Museum – entrance Via di Ripetta no. 180, from 9.20 am to 9.50 am, wearing a mask and showing their reinforced green pass (COVID-19 vaccination certification) and having their body temperature checked.
