Busho (Budapest Short) International Short film Festival

The 14th Busho (Budapest Short) International Short Film Festival will be held between 28 August and 2 September. The main goals of Busho have always been to give young film producers a chance to gain publicity and to develop the Central European audio-visual sector, helping to construct new European values. National productions will also be screened, plus selections from other festivals and presentations by film schools and workshops.

The festival will include an ‘Italian Day’ in the Federico Fellini room at the Italian Cultural Institute, with the Centrale Nazionale del Cortomettraggio (CNC) (National short film centre), the Italian Foreign Ministry and the Olbia Figari Film Fest. On Wednesday, 29 August, from 7p.m., there will be a screening of Italian short films provided by the CNC, including: Birthday by Alberto Viavattene, Bismillah by Alessandro Grande, Denise by Rossella Inglese, Insetti by Gianluca Manzetti, Respiro by Andrea Brusa and Marco Scotuzzi and Timballo by Maurizio Forcella. The Director of the Olbia-based Figari Film Fest, Matteo Pianezzi, will make a presentation, followed by a showing of the short films Warlords by Francesco Pirisi and Waiting For by Matteo Pianezzi.

The other CNC films will be Ab ovo by Luca Ferri, Yonder by Roberto Cinardi, Koala by Cristina Puccinelli and Pastarelle by Gianluca Manzetti on Monday, 10 September, at 6p.m. in the Federico Fellini room at the Italian Cultural Institute.

Other films featured in the 2018 BUSHO International Festival programme will also be shown at the institute on 30-31 August and 1 September.
