Indonesia – Jakarta: Italian excellence in research and technology

“Italy: The Beauty of Knowledge”, an exhibition on Italian excellence in research and technological innovation, was inaugurated in Jakarta by the Ambassador of Italy to the Republic of Indonesia, Vittorio Sandalli.The exhibition, hosted at the National Museum of Jakarta, which will remain open to the public until 31 March 2019, is a showcase of Italian know-how and cutting-edge technology in the field of health, the environment, space, food and cultural heritage. At the inaugural ceremony, attended by the Indonesian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdurrahman Muhammad Fachir, Ambassador Sandalli pointed out that the exhibition offers an overview of our Country’s important contributions to areas of fundamental importance not only for Italy but also for the rest of the world. Visitors follow a path that involves them emotionally as they discover Italian items of excellence. Sandalli also recalled that this is the first of a series of initiatives designed to celebrate the 70th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations between Italy and Indonesia this year. The exhibition was promoted and financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and realized thanks to the contribution of the Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Jakarta, in cooperation with the National Research Council and four of Italy’s leading scientific museums: Fondazione Idis-Città della Scienza; Galileo Galilei Museum of Florence; Science Museum – Muse di Trento; and the Leonardo da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology in Milan. “Italy: The Beauty of Knowledge”      comes to Jakarta after having been met with great success in Egypt, India and Singapore in the course of 2018. The next locations will be Vietnam, China and Argentina.
