On 26 May, Ambassador Azzarello traveled to Cabo de Santo Agostinho, near the city of Recife, the capital of the State of Pernambuco, Brazil, to attend the “Zero Waste” certification ceremony of Campari’s Brazil plant.

Campari is the first Italian company to obtain the prestigious certification in Brazil and the absolute first in Pernambuco. The relevant rise in sales in 2021, also confirmed in the first quarter of 2022, places Campari among this sector’s top 5 industries in Brazil.

In his contribution, Ambassador Azzarello emphasized that “in Italy we have 328 Zero Waste Cities, more than twice as many as in the European Continent. The Italian Embassy in Brasilia was the first diplomatic mission in the world to receive the Zero Waste certificate in April 2021 and was recertified in March 2022. It is therefore a reason of great pride that Campari give a good example also in the industrial sector and I hope that it will stand as model for all the companies in Brazil and in the world.”
