The Italian Embassy in Georgia helped arrange the first edition of the Festival “Serate verdi nel Viale dei Frutti dimenticati” (green evenings on the boulevard of forgotten fruits) organised by the Tonino Guerra International Foundation in Tbilisi.
The event kicked off on 26 June and will include four days of events featuring theatre, literature and music, including the concert “La voce della Terra” (the voice of the earth) on 28 June dedicated to the pizzica, age-old, evocative popular music from the Salento area. For the occasion, the small stage of the Shota Rustaveli National Theatre will host Consuelo Alfieri, accordionist and solo singer with the Orchestra popolare “La Notte della Taranta”; Valentina Marra (violinist), Giù Di Meo (guitar) and Stefania della Bona, pizzica dancer. The Georgian public will get the opportunity to enjoy a perfect union between music and movement: ancestral rhythms and rousing dance, contagious, passionate energy.
