The Vietnamese edition of Geronimo Stilton A Journey to Discover Italy – A Thousand Wonders was presented today in Hanoi. The publishing project promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and made in collaboration with the Italian National Commission for UNESCO aims at disseminating the Italian artistic and cultural treasures. The book was published by Edizioni Piemme, in collaboration with Atlantyca which took care of international editions.
The Vietnamese edition was edited by the Italian Embassy in Hanoi and by the General Consulate of Ho Chi Minh. The book will lead young Vietnamese readers through the discovery of Italy thanks to a unique character: Geronimo Stilton. The young readers will discover cities, villages, stories, and landscapes across the Boot. From Rome to Venice, from the Apennines to the Alps, Geronimo crosses the most famous Italian places and monuments, including the UNESCO sites, without neglecting the less-known sites, renowned food recipes, and the sites known for scientific research, handicraft and industry.
The Vietnamese edition of the book, issued by the publishing house Kim Dong, adds to the already existing translations in Arabic, Chinese, Bulgarian, Portuguese, Ukrainian, French, Spanish, and English realised within the scope of a project of an integrated promotion sponsored by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and aimed at getting young people worldwide closer to the beauties of our Country. The international editions were published in collaboration with Atlantyca Entertainment, owning the publishing rights to the book. The book copies were distributed through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs network, including Embassies, Consulates, Italian Cultural Institutes and Italian Schools abroad.
Created by Elisabetta Dami, translated into 52 different languages and with more than 180 million copies sold published worldwide, Geronimo Stilton’s adventures are published by Edizioni Piemme in Italy, and they represent one of the most outstanding achievements of the Italian children’s publishing of the last years.
