At Palazzo Metternich, the seat of the Italian Embassy in Vienna, the presentation of the Italians in the World Report 2024, curated by the Migrantes Foundation of the Italian Episcopal Conference, took place.
The event, organised by Comites (Committee of Italians Abroad) Austria and dedicated to the theme of Italian mobility abroad, featured the participation of Delfina Licata, coordinator of the report and migration sociologist.
Now in its 19th edition and presented for the first time in Austria, the report is a key publication for analysing data and trends regarding Italian communities worldwide. The presentation provided an opportunity to explore and better understand the reality of the over six million Italian nationals living abroad, with particular attention to the more than 50,000 Italian citizens residing in Austria—equivalent to 0.7% of the total Italian expatriate population.
