Declaration of uninterrupted retention of Italian citizenship for women married to a foreign national on or after 1 January 1948

Women who on or after January 1, 1948 have automatically acquired foreign citizenship by marriage to a foreign national or by foreign naturalisation of their Italian-born husband have NOT lost Italian citizenship. In order to allow the necessary annotations in the margins of the civil status documents, it is necessary that the women concerned (or their descendants) express to the competent Consular Offices their desire to retain it, by means of a declaration of uninterrupted possession.
