- Art. 6 – Access to the Library is permitted to all those who are 18 years of age or older and in possession of a valid identity document. […] It is not permitted to enter with video cameras and portable scanners. If necessary for consultation of documents held by the Library, users may bring in volumes or photocopies of their own with prior authorisation. […] Consultation of the Library’s rare and particularly valuable books is reserved for scholars and researchers. Undergraduate students who need to consult rare material shall provide a letter of introduction from the Professor who assigned the research, written on University letterhead and bearing the stamp of the relevant Department.
- Art. 8 – Texts are distributed every opening day from 9 a.m. to 1.50 p.m. Each document desired for reading shall be requested by presenting the form provided by the Library, clearly filled in in all its parts. The number of daily requests is 4 (for a maximum of 3 volumes per request).
- Art. 11 – […] Users shall strictly comply with the laws governing the use of public places and the provisions of these regulations.
- Art. 13 – […] In order to photograph documents with one’s own means and devices, authorisation from the Library Management is required. Photographs shall be taken in such a way as not to damage the document and in compliance with current law provisions. Requests shall be made on a form available in the Reading Room.
How to reach the Library
The Library, which has a large Reading Room open to the public, can be reached from the Entry Pass Office, Olympic Stadium side, ground floor, P.le della Farnesina 1, 00135 Rome.
OPENING HOURS:
The Reading Room of the Library is open for consultation and information on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Reservations shall be made at least 24 hours in advance by writing to one of the following addresses:

CLOSING DATES:
1-31 August and a short closure for Christmas and Easter holidays.
